Influence of body mass index on prescribing costs and potential cost savings of a weight management programme in primary care

This paper documents prescribing costs by one unit increase in BMI from 20-40kg/m2.
The paper concludes that 8% of programme costs could be recouped from prescribing savings in the first year alone. With full retention and follow up this could be as much as 22% of programme costs.
