This paper looked at the relationship between BMI and CVD risk factors with a 10% weight reduction. This paper found that obese pts exhibited more CVD risk factors than normal weight patients. A 10% weight loss from the mean BMI (32.5) resulted in a reduction in the odds ratio for Diabetes by 30%, CVD 20% whilst a 10% weight gain resulted in an increase of 35% for Diabetes and 20% for CVD.
