To ensure that Counterweight is implemented
successfully, it is recommended that Health

  • How will Counterweight fit in with already developed local weight management services?
  • Who is going to be the key personnel to lead the programme within Health Boards, CHPs and practices?
  • What equipment is available for the delivery of Counterweight in your Health Board, CHP or Practice?, e.g. Scales, Waist Tape measures, Height Measuring. Computer system to input data
  • How are patients going to enter the Counterweight Programme?, e.g. Keep Well screening, self referral, GP referral etc
  • How is the person delivering weight management going to structure his/her time in the delivery of Counterweight? E.g. ½ day clinic, group sessions
  • How is the data on patients going to be collected and evaluated?, .e.g. GPass, use of READ Codes etc
  • What local factors need to be considered prior to programme implementation
