First 3 - 6 months

- Set up to explore the feasibility of implementing Counterweight
- Systems explored at a local level to enable data collection for evaluation and audit.

| SLA Signed |
- Incorporate Counterweight into local obesity strategy

Following 12 months
|
| Practice recruitment |
- GP recruitment starts within 10 weeks of the SLA being signed
- The start date for the project is when the first practice recruitment event takes place

| Nurse training |
- Nurse training will start about 8 weeks later
- WMAs deliver the training
- Training and patient education materials are provided
|
| Mentoring in practice |
- Counterweight Specialists facilitate programme implementation and offer intensive support in practice for up to 6 months. This includes competency-based learning.
- Follow-up meetings will be arranged as required and eventually managed by the buddy clinician
