Recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes? Remission is possible!

Did you know that in 2019, every three minutes someone was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in England and Wales? Newer analysis shows that numbers continue to grow and that over 4.9 million people are currently living with diabetes in the UK alone, with 90% of those with type 2.

This means that if you’ve recently been diagnosed, you are certainly not alone. You are also most likely at a stage where it is possible to reverse your symptoms and put your type 2 diabetes into remission. It has been proven that people who have had type 2 for less than 6 years are much more likely to be able to go into remission. And the strongest evidence we have is that diabetes remission is possible with substantial weight loss. Why? Because you are changing the disease process, rather than treating its symptoms.

The Counterweight-Plus programme has been scientifically proven to help people do just that. In the DiRECT trial in the U.K., participants who had type 2 diabetes for less than 6 years were randomised to either an intensive weight loss intervention group or a control group:

Of the participants who lost 15kg or more during the study, an astounding 86% achieved diabetes remission! There is no doubt that remission is possible, that weight loss is the best way to achieve it, and that Counterweight-Plus works!

If you feel overwhelmed and find it hard to believe that you can reverse your recently-diagnosed type 2 diabetes, please read Christian's story. It may seem like a miracle, but it’s really just science, combined with friendly, understanding, 1-on-1 support.
